random system freeze with ndiswrapper

My system freezes up at random times and I cannot ctrl-alt-backspace or ctrl-alt-f1 or even use the power button and have to turn the computer off from the power supply. Does anybody know why this would be. Also, I looked through various files in /var/log but couldn't find anything that looked related, what log should I look for info in?

Athlon XP 2400+
d-link dwl-g520 rev. b3(I know supposed to work with madwifi but doesnt)
512mb ram
Ubuntu Hoary

This may or may not apply to your situation, but certain versions of ndiswrapper would make my computer react funny as soon as the module was loaded. The computer would slow down, and my keyboard would delay, which wasn't very fun. You may want to see if another version of ndiswrapper does the trick.

It may be that ubuntu has a 4k stack size, and some drivers require larger stack sizes. Look on the ndiswrapper wiki for information about that.

I'm trying the cvs ndiswrapper now and if I keep having problems I'll try recompiling the kernel with a 8k stack or patch it to 12k. Thanks

edit:I just used the cvs version and it appears to work fine now.
