Hi everyone.
I've got a new Inspiron 5150 that I've set up to dual boot XP and Fedora Core 1. I'm new to Linux, but not to PCs so I'll try to give as much info as possible here.
My problem is that Fedora does not 'see' my modem that is built in to my laptop. XP says the modem is a Broadcom modem. I've looked high and low for drivers for this modem for Linux and have not found anything. I've tried the 'ListModem' script and it returns nothing. I ran 'ScanModem' and it seems to 'think' my modem is part of my sound card, which perhaps it is.
I am hoping someone else with a Dell or another laptop or even desktop has successfully found / installed drivers for their modem and can point me to a place where I can get them.
So far this is the only real issue I'm having with my install, but it's one that is really bothering me since the only way for me to connect to the internet from the place I'm working is via modem and well...I'm sure you see the problem
Thanks all for any help you can give this noob
