Having a problem with the display. I have dual booted my system with WinXP and installed RH9, all of which seemed to go fine. GRUB loads through but the screen just turns to little pink lines when it loads through to RH. I can get out of it into the text mode and login as root. Have tried redhat-configure-xfree86 but that just gives me the same pink screen. Even went in and tried changing the XF86Config in vi. That didn't do much either. ddcprobe won't recognise my monitor either. I have an nVidia GeForce FX 5200 graphics card. Also, have a USB Floppy which it seemed to ignore during installation so couldn't make a rescue disk.

Help?!

The onboard nvidia modules in XFree86 4.3.0 aren't even capable of displaying on an FX5200 yet. XFree work on the Nvidia cards has more or less stopped since the drivers directly from Nvidia are so much better:

They're easily installed from the command line.

For the USB Floppy...

add this to /etc/fstab:

/dev/sda /mnt/floppy vfat noauto, owner, ro 0 0

then, mkdir /mnt/floppy

That should let you access your USB Floppy...
