How to install fedora from a harddisk(help)


hi, everyone!
i just want to know if i can install fedora core4 from a harddisk. my laptop is toshiba dynabook ss 2000m ds75p/2. and i have a cd-rom but i cannot boot from it(the bios dosen't support the cd-rom). i can only use floppy disk to boot. then, if i can install this os from harddisk, what should i do. thank you very much!

Courious: If the BIOS doesn't support the CD, how can you use it at all? Did you perhaps mean "The BIOS doesn't support booting from the CD."?

You could try installing the (alpha release) of GRUB2 on a floppy, and setting it to boot from the CD drive. (I've never tried this, but it might work.) Alternatively, look at http://www.lrz-muenchen.de/~bernhard/grub-chain-cd.html for how it might be possible to do it from GRUB.

Thank you so much for help. yes, my bios dosen't support booting from cd-rom. it's a pcmcia cd-rom. i tried to install it from the harddisk using an iso image, it stopped when the installation started. my videocard is: Trident Video Accelerator CyberBlade XP Ai1 .
