Fedora Core2T2 on Sony TR series

I have a Sony PCG-TR2AP1. So far Ive managed to get the 1280x768 screen resolution runing with Xi Graphics 3rd party video driver. No big deal! Now, I've moved on to the sound. Couldn't ever get the ALSA drivers working under Core 1 so I went to try Core 2 since the ALSA is included. I have sound but only through the OSS drivers for the GUI-related wav sounds. I can't get anything from the CD player or XMMS. I'll post my modprobe.conf if anyone is interested to see where I might be going wrong.

Next, I'm going to move onto running wireless using madwifi. If anyone has any tips or tricks on setting up the Sony Tr series for using Fedora PLEASE let me know. I've spent many days now, almost 24 hours a day, trying to get everything running properly on this laptop. I also need to get sonypi (included with Fedora) and hopefully the camera working. I can live without the camera but I really need sound.

If anyone wants a step-by-step for loading and configuring the Xi Graphics driver on the TR series to support the wide display then let me know and I can post it.
