Smile Fedora Core 3 in Averatec 3200 Series

Hi All,

This is my approach to install FC3 in the Averatec 3200 series. I had already partitioned my hard drive with the qtparted in the systemrescueCD (wonderful tool by the way). After that I tried to install FC3 but the problems that have been mentioned already in other threads came in my way. I tried to install in text mode only but however FC3 install succesfully it didn't boot at all.

Since FC2 is known to work in the Averatec I installed and configured screen and sound. After that I tried to install FC3 again (in text mode) using the upgrading feature. Voilá, the installation was perfect and everything I had used till now had been working OK. If anybody knows any drawbacks for using the upgrading feature of FC3 please let me know.

Have a nice day,

Fabian.

One more thing...

When you boot FC3 you will be ask to run Kudzu because FC3 couldn't identify new hardware (I guess it has to be related with the video adapter which is not identified by FC3). Anyway, skip that step because if you try to reconfigure the whole system is going to be messed up. If you skip the step FC3 is going to load normally.
