DVD not playing with Compaq nx9005

Hello,
I installed Mandrake 9.2 on my compaq nx9005 and no DVD is playing on it.
I have a dvd R-Writeble combo on it and I tried different softs like xine, kaffeine and I have the same results: VCD, MP3, CD are running no problem...
But not the DVDs.
Is there a link problem?

It might be that you don't have libdvdread or libdvdcss. Try installing libdvdread (search rpmfind.net) and then try. If that doesn't work then try libdvdcss (whose legality is still in question FYI).

libdvdread 0.9.4.2 mdk
libdvdcss2-1.2.8.lplf
are installed since the beginning I'm using Kaffeine and xine.
What next??

Do you have a /dev/dvd and is it linked to /dev/cdrom?
