ATI Technologies Inc SB450 HDA Audio alsamixer problem

Running slack 11.0 2.6.18.3.
I am so far that i have enabled my soundcard via howto on alsa-project.org but still i have some questions. here is an output of my lsmod:

ndiswrapper 157076 0
snd_seq_dummy 3204 0
snd_seq_oss 27968 0
snd_seq_midi_event 6336 1 snd_seq_oss
snd_seq 41008 5 snd_seq_dummy,snd_seq_oss,snd_seq_midi_event
snd_seq_device 7180 3 snd_seq_dummy,snd_seq_oss,snd_seq
snd_pcm_oss 38720 0
snd_mixer_oss 14336 1 snd_pcm_oss
pcmcia 29716 0
pcmcia_core 33424 1 pcmcia
tsdev 5632 0
snd_hda_intel 15252 2
snd_hda_codec 140016 1 snd_hda_intel
snd_pcm 66056 4 snd_pcm_oss,snd_hda_intel,snd_hda_codec
snd_timer 18756 3 snd_seq,snd_pcm
snd 43652 12 snd_seq_dummy,snd_seq_oss,snd_seq,snd_seq_device,snd_pcm_oss,snd_mixer_oss,snd_hda_intel,snd_hda_cod ec,snd_pcm,snd_timer
soundcore 7712 1 snd
snd_page_alloc 7688 2 snd_hda_intel,snd_pcm

when i run alsamixer i have four options to unmute

"1)Master 2)PCM 3)Mic Boots 4)Internal"

I hear the sound but i know there must be more options to unmute. With kernel 2.4.33.3 i had more options. And now when i want to watch movie there is a sound but when i want to listen music via
xmms it gives out a message that if my soundcard is configured properly and if i have correct plugin selected no other program is blocking the soundcard. Which modules should i insert into to have the soundcard up totally?

By default alsa mute some sound channel, it is informed after do alsaconf

To automatically unmute when boot, you can add the command-line based mixer called amixerinto a start-up script (e.g rc.local).

/usr/bin/amixer sset Master 100% on

to enable sound sharing, so you can play music using xmms and play a games (with sound too) try to install esd the sound daemon.

When you upgraded your kernel did you download the alsa source packages and recompile alsa? You need the driver, oss, libs. and utils packages. I had the same problem before I did this and now have full mixer controls.
