Asus X50V and network problem.

I got Asus x50v laptop, which has realtek rtl8139/810x family fast ethernet
nic and Ubuntu 7.04 (kernel 2.6.20-15). The problem:
any network activity is impossible. ifconfig eth0 up/down helps for a
minute or till the first name resolve action and /var/log/messages
is full of records like: NETDEV WATCH DOG: eth0: transmit timed out.
I've rad lots of topics about this problem, tried to disable acpi, apic,
mDNSresponder and other solutions which helped to people,
but it's all simply doesn't help
How to fix that? Is there at least any way to make linux work on this
laptop or linux still doesn't have enough support?

You should test your system with a Live CD from a DIFFERENT distro like slax,or knoppix. Does the network card work there?

If it does then try compiling your own kernel.
