I'am a TravelMate 230 user too and I am so trouble with Video Card.
So many Linux versions have beend tried, but I still receive nothing good.

uname -r
you get 2.4.21 etc no? I just posted to thyme on the other thread

hey my X windows used to crash under RH 9.0 In fact if you left it alone for long enough sitting on the command line doin nothing it would crash all due to lack of ACPI I suppose

how are others going with X or mystery crashes?
Hmm I think i'll do a blog installation web site for install on this laptop model anyone interested in helping, contributing experiences?

I also have TravelMate 230 with Redhat8.0 which i installed successfully but when it comes to boot, I get this error message:

Starting PCMCIA: PCI: No IRQ known for interrupt pin A of device 02:09.0. please try using pci=biosirq

I've tried to append pci=biosirq a the command line but it did not work, does anyone of you guys has a work around for this ???

Encarni , Apparently you had the same problem, did you solve it??
