[HELP] Debian lenny on Compag presario v2000 + LCD Projector
Hi guys,
I've been trying to display my debian lenny which is installed under compaq presario v2000 into lcd projector. But it doesn't seem to work for me. The lcd just won't display anything. Does anyone here have solution for this problem ?
If you plug in the projector while the laptop is off, then turn the projector and laptop on, does it still not work? Does the display hot key do anything? Usually this is the fn key and one of the F buttons (there should be an image or text to represent it).

If not, try stopping X and run "Xorg -configure" to generate a new xorg.conf while the projector is plugged in. Does that add an entry for it in the file? Try using the new xorg.conf file. Try xrandr again.

Ok,
i've tried stopping gdm , and generate new xorg.conf , it did add an entry for it in the file. but when i tried to use the new xorg.conf : 'X -config /root/xorg.conf.new' , it still failed to display it into LCD.
btw here's the new xorg.conf that i used :
I wasn't sure if it would be added to the xorg.conf file as another screen/monitor, but it doesn't look like it from that. Was the projector on at the time?
What does the output of xrandr look like (when logged in to your GNOME session)? Run it as your user.
Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1280 x 768, maximum 1280 x 1200
VGA-0 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
LVDS connected 1280x768+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 305mm x 183mm
1280x768 60.0*+ 60.0
1024x768 60.0
800x600 60.3
640x480 59.9
S-video disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
I've just tested mine and VGA should show as connected when it's plugged in. Have you got another cable to try? Can you test the cable and projector on another computer otherwise?
