I've downloaded and installed Beryl on my FC6 box, but my video card (Silicon Integrated Systems) appears not to support it. Apparently, I need a 3D graphics card. Googling this, it seems that nVidia and ATI cards work (plus others), but problems are encountered (nVidia has memory leaks, ATI is slow, ... so the postings say) I can't find a list of supported cards on Beryl's web site, although apparently there is one there somewhere.

Does anyone have Beryl running nicely on their FC6 box? If so, what card do you use? And what packages do I need to install to support the card? Any comments/advice appreciated!

Well, I usuallly don't bother with installing beryl but when I installed Sabayon some time ago, I found it came with beryl pre-configured. It ran pretty smoothly (ATI 1600 card) although I hear that nvidia cards are simply better and more convenient.

To make it work with FC6, you'll have to download and install the beryl package with its dependencies; and if you use ATI, you'll have to set up XGL.
