USB Printer Issues - Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.3 - HP Laser P2014

When I plug my HP Laserjet P2014 into my Linux Box I get the following error messages at the command line;

USB 1-3: device descriptor read/64, error -71
USB 1-3: device descriptor read/64, error -71
USB 1-3: device descriptor read/64, error -71
USB 1-3: device descriptor read/64, error -71
USB 1-3: device not accepting address 9, error -71
USB 1-3: device not accepting address 10, error -71

And the computer cannot print. Guess I have to sort out the above errors first.

My computer is using a Gigabyte EX58-UD5 motherboard with a core i7 processor and 6GB ram. I've installed Red Hat Enterprise Linux 2.6.18-128.el5

lsusb shows no devices

Any help appreciated
