how do I add a non-listed printer to Red Hat enterprise v3

I want to add HP colorjet 3600 to my Red Hat system, which is not a listed printer. I have tried and tried but no luck so far. I have a ppd file but I cannot find how to "import" it to add it to the list of printers, plus I do not know where to copy the file to. I am not even really sure if this is what I need to do. Any help on how to add this print would be very much appreciated. Am using Red Hat linux enterprise Ver 3.

I don't have a direct answer to your specific situation, but I have had to go to LinuxPrinting before for a similar situation and found the info there.

EDIT: It does say "Site dedicated to printing under free operating systems like Linux", your distribution may not qualify.

Before spending the time to add things to Enterprise v3, consider getting something more modern. RedHat Enterprise (RHEL) is now up to v5, and there is also the CentOS clone of RHEL, and Fedora
