SoundBlaster Live and VIA MoBo

Got a new SoundCard as Built-in one on motherboard isnt didnt work (or i couldnt get it to work), so I install it and put in the snd-emu10k1 in my kernel, and tried to get it up and running, but it still uses my Shuttle AK32VN Motherboards Soundcard and whenever i try to get it working with my PCI Card nothing happens and no sound comes out.

Here is my lsmod output:
Code:
Module Size Used by
fglrx 228796 7
snd_seq_midi 6816 0
snd_emu10k1_synth 7232 0
snd_emux_synth 35776 1 snd_emu10k1_synth
snd_seq_virmidi 6464 1 snd_emux_synth
snd_seq_midi_emul 7232 1 snd_emux_synth
snd_emu10k1 92104 1 snd_emu10k1_synth
snd_util_mem 3776 2 snd_emux_synth,snd_emu10k1
snd_hwdep 7748 2 snd_emux_synth,snd_emu10k1
snd_via82xx 22724 0
snd_ac97_codec 68880 2 snd_emu10k1,snd_via82xx
snd_mpu401_uart 6720 1 snd_via82xx
snd_rawmidi 20644 4 snd_seq_midi,snd_seq_virmidi,snd_emu10k1,snd_mpu401_uart
I am also positive my kernel recognizes my soundcard.

Thanx

The SB live is usually a simple task to get working - normally just plug it in and set your levels in alsamixer.

If that hasn't worked and you've checked everything else then maybe change it's PCI slot...happened to me once that the last slot on teh board gave no sound but a different slot worked fine.

lsmod & lspci output look fine for a SB Live!

Run these commands and post the output
Code:
cat /proc/asound/cards
cat /proc/asound/devices

If the card is a Creative Sound Blaster Live! 24bit then take a look at:

http://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...threadid=254502

It would appear that they have changed the chipset.
