Slack 9.0 with Biostar M7NCD


Hi,
Biostar M7NCD, slackware 9.0, kernel 2.6.0. How to make LAN work? I tryed to compile kernel but nothing works Any suggestions?

what do you mean nothing works?
what type of onboard lan is it?
is your lan card listed in the output of any of the following

dmesg
lspci
lsmod
pnpdump

Don't know about slack but you probably have to get the driver from nvidia's website as with most other distros.

You need the nvidia drivers for that controller.What i don't know is whether there is a slack package for it or you'll have to get it from nvidia.Just go to http://www.nvidia.com and go to drivers-linux-nforcedrivers (not the graphics drivers) and install it.There's a how-to there,too.

As posted, you need the nvidia drivers. You will need to download them and install the 'nvidianet' (I think that's right) driver, then it will work.

Before I figured that out, I bought a new 3COM card (which works great), but you can save yourself that expense if you have patience.
