Biostar M6VCF audio help please


hi im kinda a n00b so kinda take it easy arite?


i got me a free biostar M6VCF with a p3 chip... i loaded Fedora core 3 and i was planning on puting in a TV tuner car and and ethernet card and make that my usual watching tv listening to mp3s and chat computer...

well now im stuck at finding drivers for the audio controller

STAC9700T & STAC9721 Codec

thats the codex thats listed on the biostar website. there not providing any linux support and now im dead in the water. any one got any help for poor old me?.

Open a root terminal and type "lspci -v" (minus quotes). Post back what it says about the audio chipset - a quick Google search seems to suggest that your board uses the VIA vt82c686, which is supported by ALSA.

Not a bad little board for a freebie, by the way. Should make a nice Linux box once everything's sorted.

ignore the Ensoniq ES1371 audio card i need to get the onboard to work! cause it only has 2 pci slots one is the ethernet and the other is the Creative sound card. i wanna get the creative out and put my TV tuner card in there so when i go back to college i have somthing to use other then windoz XP.

2 year a+ cert technition and i forgot to see if it was enabled in the bios.... im a dumbass
