Can't control fan on Biostar M7NCD motherboard

Hi, all -

I just set up a M7NCD mb w/ Athlon XP +2400 processor, it runs really well (> 3900 bogomips, no crashes). It uses an Award BIOS and the nvidia2 chipset.

I installed lm_sensors 2.8.2, and everything looks like it is detected fine.

My problem is that the pwmconfig utility seems unable to set the fan speed at all. I have noticed the fan(s) are always on at the highest speed, and I cannot seem to control them.

Does anyone have suggestions how to proceed? Is there perhaps a BIOS setting I should change to allow the s/w to control the fans?

Thanks!

I just heard back from Biostar, and they say: "Because we don't have a smart-fan function build in on M7NCD motherboard. You can try to use a cpu fan that came with adjustable speed control on M7NCD."

This sucks, but at least I know I can't control the fan speed on this motherboard.
