problem with aRts

Hi all
I'm using KDE 3.2.3 on SuSE Linux 9
After upgrading to KDE 3.2.3 I now get sound problems.

This message pops up when KDE starts.

Sound server fatal error:
AudioSubSystem::handleIO: write failed
len = -1, can_write = 3276, errno = 4 (Interrupted system call)
This might be a sound hardware/driver specific problem (see aRts FAQ)

KDE audio Like amarok doesnt run but I tried alsaplayer.
This works if i change the start command.
It was 'checkhardware alsaplayer' this doesnt work
If I use alsaplayer this works ok But I would like to get my KDE sounds working,

Talking

richard -

i just solved my problem and perhaps the solution is the same for you. in the control center under sound system i had set the sound buffer to the far right ("as large as possble"). when i backed off the slider just one notch to "21 fragments with 4096 bytes" my sound system magically returned to full functionality

good luck!
