Unhappy Problem: AVR1 is busy.../touchscreen does not work

Hi,

[I use SuSE 7.3 and 2.4.16-4GB]

I have two problems and I think they are related...

First of all: I cannot seem to get my Elographics touchscreen to work correctly. It is connected (at ttyS0) and I used SaX2 to configure it.

Second: when I use dmesg to check the serial ports' status I get only (lots and lots of times): Problem: AVR1 is busy...
And when I use serserial -a, the output is:
/usr/laser/dev/ttyS0, UART: 16550A, Port: 0x03f8, IRQ: 4

I got the touchscreen working at some point, but apperently, something has changed...

Anyone any clues? Even the internet is not very informative on the problem "AVR1 is busy"...

Thanks in advance!

Regards,
Robin...

Maybe we're all just jealous 'cause you have a touchscreen.

A quick glance on google brings up references to networking - so I'm gonna guess that you have a ppp setup on that port.

What mouse device are are you using in your XF86Config?
What do you see when you type in the following? 'ls -la /dev/mouse' and 'ls -la /dev/modem'.
