Post PC Speaker not working.

I'm running Slackware 10.2 with the 2.6.13 (stock) kernel and my PC Speaker isn't working.
When I use the 2.4.31 (stock) kernel it works fine.
Is there something I need to compile into the kernel to get the PC Speaker to work?

Under Device Drivers -> Miscellaneous Devices there is an option for the PC Speaker

Post Not there.

The only thing I see under Device Drivers - Misc Devices is:
<M> Device driver for IBM RSA service processor

Try Device Drivers -> Input Devices -> Miscellaneous. If it's not there try under the sound menu. I know it's there somewhere. When you enable it (if it isn't already) also make sure it's not muted with alsaconf.

I have build it into the kernel and it beeps very nicely in RL3, but in
KDE it won't beep! Is this a related issue or shall I post elsewhere?
I have build it into the kernel instead of compiling it as a module.
