Question partition question


hey everyone

i have a big problem then i'm gonna do partition, i can do them it's not the problem. i have 40 gb to partition's for linux at, well i think i'm gona use 1024 mb for swap, but which size i shuld i do the other two? i know my english it's not good, but i hope you know what i mean. i only wanna know which partition linux it's installed at and which one i use for my stuffs, i have already install it before but then i have 6 gb for my stuffs and 68 gb to Linux os, and 1 gb to swap.

In your previous installs you have allocated too much space for Linux. I would try the other way around: 6GB for Linux and the rest for your stuff.

i know, but which partition is linux installed at? ext2 or ext3?

ext2 and 3 are filesystems, not partitions. Which distro are you going with? Many of them will autopartition for you - all you need to do is create some free space.
