Nvidia driver install issues

Hello everyone. I have a relatively simple problem (and i'm going to kick myself in the head when i find out what the answer is)

i'm installing the new Nvidia drivers. Here is my problem. My nvidia.o file is not loading automatically and i don't know why. When make the kernel modules and the GLX moduels i can startx. When i restart i can't startx and have to re-make the drivers.

NOW, when my computer starts, i can go straight to the nvidia.o file and insmod ./nvidia.o and startx and everything works fine. What do i have to do to not have to manually do this everytime?

p.s. modules.conf is loading NVdriver which i know is wrong, maybe that has something to do with it?

Thanks in advance

faz,

could you please be more specific ?
Which distro ?
Version ?
Drivers version ?

To be able to help you further those elements are vital.

oops... sorry guys.. i'm running Debian v3 and the driver version is 4191 i believe. A friend of mine helped me figure it out... we had to change NVdriver to nvidia under aliases in the aliases file under modules.

Thanks for the input thought i appreciate it :-)
