No Sound Knoppix

Greetings All

I'm new to Linux and am trying to decide if I can dump Windows once and for all. For now I'm just trying to get framillerized with the concept and am trying Knoppix on a PII 350, ABit mainboard, Matrox G200, and a SB-AWE32 ISA audio card. The latter being the problem. I cant seem to get the soundcard to recognize and I've read as much as possible but I'm still lost. Any help would be appriciated. Thanks

If it doesn't work straight away the next thing to try is probably to add the parameters:

knoppix alsa=sbawe

at the boot screen.

Also look at the boot messages, or the output of the dmesg command, for any signs that the knoppix hardware detection has picked up your card.
