i can't listen to other cd as well

when i try to use Music Player (for audio cd's) i get this error:
To extract CDs you must install the Sound Juicer package.

i went to the page (i think) of Sound Juicer and i got that there's no stable version however for debian... i don't think its a problem of that package because it shoul work with some other application...

Have you tried any program other than "Music Player", such as xmms?

yes, i've tried Music Player, Cd Player and XMMS, on MP i get the error described before, on CP it recognizes the cd and even the names of the songs but there's no sound at all and on XMMS it recognizes the songs names but i can't seem to be able to add anything to play at all...

The cable from the cd-drive to your soundcard is connected, right?
