new monitor or linux problem

I just purchased a viewsonic P815.
set my modes in XF86Config-4 to 1024x768 and 1280x1024, and depth to 24. It works great. The problem is, while working, every 15min the monitor flashs, kinda like powering down, and back up again. I probably shouldn't ask without posting my config( i'm at work), but is there anythything i coulda missed that this monitor needs?

edit: i had this monitor hooked up on my win2k, and never noticed any flashing.

videocard geforce2 gts 32mb
drivers nvidia 2960( reinstalled)
rh7.2

it could be your screensaver program or possibly your power settings.

Did you change the monitor's horizontal and vertical refresh settings? That's pretty indicative of making a multisync monitor perform too high above its limits.

Cheers,
