Suse Linux 7.1 Monitor Problem

Hi there!
I want to be a linux user more than two years but i could'nt because of the hardware problems. Last year i had a old computer and tried to install some small linux versions, but couldn't do that.
Than at the beginning of the summer i bought a new computer and i dreamed that i will use both winxp, win98 and linux in my computer. but now i just have a xp os. Why?

I found a linux version from my friend SUSE 7.1. It is 7 cds.
Started installation from bootable first cd. than i select default everything. at the end it finished installing the cd1 and said me to rerstart. The LILO dsikette was in driver and computer booted from it but after a few tests the screen repetead this error:

hda: lost interrupt
......
......
hdb: lost interrupt
....
...
...
.....
hda: lost interrupt
hda: lost interrupt
hda: lost interrupt
(i think at this point infinite loop, because i counted 25 error messages)

than i shutdown the pc. insert the cd1 again and booted from it. Select Abort installation from install menu. and then "Boot Instaled System" from new menu. It booted correctly. Wanted cd2 from me. than installed something and at the last point wanted me to select my monitor. My MAIN problem is here:

I tried all monitor types from list. But in the second screen when i press TEST. It writes that i will see a picture. But i couldn't see anything. the screen doesn't change. And i try to select next. When i tried to press NEXT, a new messagebox appears "FIRST TEST, THEN NEXT"... I coludn't do anything.
HELP Me

My system properties:
Philips 107E4 Monitor
ASUS Geforge 8MX 128 MB GraphicCard
P4 2.4GHZ
512 DDR RAM
LG 52x24x52 Cdwriter
...
..
THANX for your helps from now... :}

I had that lost interupt problem once. My problem was that my case wasn't ventilated well enough for all the stuff I had in it. It's also true that hardware support wasn't that good back then. A couple of extra fans and some air holes will do you no harm. Ask around. You may find some one with an up to date copy. I believe it's legal to give a copy to a friend.
