i just bought an m$ wireless optical mouse blue USB (it was cheaper than logitech....im a broke-ass college student!) and i plugged it in in Mandy 8.2. After a couple times restarting X, linux registers the mouse, but it doesnt move properly: left and right make it go up and down, the buttons make the pointer move slightly to the right, etc.
i tried editing my XF86Config-4, but mandrake already did that, so there was nothing to change.
someone help me! i'm surfing with the tab and arrow keys!
More than once have I referred to your section Neo, thanks for another thread to appear when I search
icyfire, you may want to post the pointer section from your file.
Also, you might need to modprobe uhci as well as usb-uhci. If these are not built into your kernel, you may want to get the latest one, and then compile it in there.
it honestly had nothing to do with any config files, any usb modules, any drivers, or anything related to my computer whatsoever.
when i took back the m$ mouse and bought a logitech (for 10 bucks more...) i plugged it in, and it auto-magically started working. (it took 4 restarts and a bus change to get it to work in windows)
Cool, glad you got it working. It was probably that logo holding you back
When I read that first paragraph about it having nothing to do with your computer whatsoever, I thought the next paragraph was going to say "...So I plugged it in
i own a cordless optical mouse (Microsoft IntelliEYE)
its blue and cordless it works just fine on my linux
box... it won't work on my PS/2 connector...
its great in linux, windows hates it (hehe...). however, the only downside is that it eats a pair of AA's in about 5-6 weeks....my old cordless ate a pair of AAA's in about 4 months.
