Thanks for everyone's help. The motherboard/CPU/HSF/Mem combo came in the mail on Saturday. I installed it and it didn't POST, so I took it to a friend's house and we tried the memory in his AM2 board. Nothing. We tried his memory in mine and it booted. So the memory is being exchanged and I'll just have to wait a few days more, but it looks like I'll be back in action soon. At least it was just the memory and it was easy to troubleshoot.
What gets me was it is "brand name" memory: Crucial. I only had trouble with generic memory in the past.
My friend said he had two Crucial memory chips go bad on him in the past, but he got free replacements.
