kernel driver load/boot order

Hello

I have a server with two Controllers installed, one uses de Megaraid-Driver (controller1, on-board) and the other uses the QLogic-Driver (controller2, pci-x host bus adapter), both are integrated in the standart kernel 2.6.9.

My root partition is on a disk connected to controller1 and there are some disks connected over controller2.

After I compiled both drivers into the kernel, the QLogic-Driver will boot-up bevor the megaraid-Driver does, and i get a kernel-panic errormessage.

Is there a way to define which driver will load first? Or do i have to define the QLogic-Driver as Module and load it at the end of the boot process?

Thanks for any help/suggestions

Dev

Hi,

Try to see if there's specific kernel options for your driver in the kernel sources (/usr/src/linux/Documentations/)... for examples, kernel-parameters.txt file may give you ideas or doc specific to your controllers
