Intel Sound Card and hd-audio0 excessive cpu usage

Dear Members,

I am using CentOS 5.3 with an Intel sound card. The output of "lspci" command for the sound card is as follows:

00:14.2 Audio device: ATI Technologies Inc SBx00 Azalia (Intel HDA)

When I listen to music (mp3) using Real Player, hd-audio0 uses the 99 % of cpu (as I found out from "top" command output). And if I try to open other programs after a while the system hangs. I couldn't figure out what the problem is. Can you please help me?

Thanks,

Ekin

No, I am using ALSA. But I found out that this happens when I run Virtual Box and Real Player together. It seems that Virtual Box's usage cause the excessive cpu share. When I disabled the Virtual Box audio for the virtual machine everything went back to normal. Strange, isn't it?
