Installing a Video card for RH 5.2

I know I am using an older version of RH before anything else is said. Now for the buisness. I am trying to install a video card that is in the RH list of supported video cards and I am running into the following problem.

When I first start the Xconfigurator it probes the system for my card and it finds it. This is the message:

Probing found a

PCI Entry: Virge /DX or /GX
Xserver: SVGA

Then I press OK. This is the only option. Then I receive this message.

Server does not exist. Can not continue.

The card I am using is a S3 Virge GX

Is this because I missed something in the initial setup or what? Is the server message refering to the driver for the card?

I am new to linux. Very new, so any help will do.

AFAIK there are two available X drivers: SVGA and S3V. You should read the page about S3 cards on the Xfree website ( http://www.xfree86.org/3.3.6/S3V.html ). Try to edit manually the XF86Config file and change to the apropriate driver.
