I think you can get the program alien to convert the rpm into a slackware package.

I looked at the "This is how I do it all " thread and followed the instructions for install the video card. I ran *conf and followed the instructions. It created some file I edited the file and changed "keyboard" to "kbd". Now what? The graphics look the same and when I play an OpenGL game the graphics doesn't look like it has been accelerated. It is slow and choppy. I then renamed that file to xorg.conf ( I backed up the old one). Then I typed startx. and KDE doesn't start. What did I do wrong? How to do this?

Thanks in advance!

Ah I forgot to load the module. Anyway here is how I solved my problem, I just type this in to load the module.

modprobe fglrx

where 'fglrx' is the module to load. I have 2 questions now

1. How can I make the module be loaded automaticly

2. The rendering and refresh of windows is much more faster now. Just one problem, when ever an OpenGL application is opened up the whole system freezes. Maybe I didn't setup correctly so I have the following questions from setup

2 A) What is horizontal refresh rate? This really confuses me, I heard of vertical but not horizontal. My monitor goes up to 1024x768 at 75hz. 75hz thats vertical right? My monitor is also LCD and supports lower resolutions. It can go higher refresh rates but then everything starts becoming blurry and eventually corrupted.

B) How may I fix the problem so I may play some OpenGL games.. My video card is ATI Radeon 9700.

Thanks in advance!
