HSFi modem --mute!!

i want to know how can i mute my modem in linux. it's hsf modem and the chipset was Conexant.
i trying to find the command or i think its suppose to be atm0. but it doesn't working and also messing up my modem driver config which i have to reinstall my modem driver to get it working again.
any ideas?
my modem driver was from www.linuxant.com
good thing was i got 5.* version which doesn't have speed limited.
