howdy fellas...

i'm using redhat 8.0...

and there is one porblem...
my soundcard was recoginized on startup...
it's CREATIVE SOUND BLASTER AWE 64 PNP...
Then, i pressed on install&configure...

however, i can't play any sounds...
when i'm clicking on configure your soundcard, the following message appears: there are no soundcards installed!

how come?

in the hardware browser i can see that there is a "CREATIVE SB AWE64 PNP: Audio" and a "CREATIVE SB AWE64 PNP: Wavetable"

what do i have to do so that i can use my soundcard?

it did work on SuSE 7.x and 8.x ...

Have you disabled plug'n'play in the bios?

i haven't disabled the option...

i've made a weird discovery:
i can enable the sounds in gnome...
i can hear the sound...

but all other applications don't play sound...

what shall i do now?
