Generic CDRW in Mandrake9.2

I've gone to hell and back reading about how to configure my burner in SCSI emulation mode, but it's still not working. Thus far:

(fstab output):

/dev/hda5 / ext2 defaults 1 1
none /dev/pts devpts mode=0620 0 0
none /mnt/cdrom supermount dev=/dev/hdc,fs=udf:iso9660,ro,--,iocharset=iso8859-1 0 0
none /mnt/cdrom2 supermount dev=/dev/scd0,fs=udf:iso9660,ro,--,iocharset=iso8859-1 0 0
none /mnt/floppy supermount dev=/dev/fd0,fs=ext2:vfat,--,sync,iocharset=iso8859-1,umask=0,codepage=850 0 0
/dev/hda1 /mnt/win_c ntfs ro,iocharset=iso8859-1,umask=0 0 0
/dev/hda6 /mnt/win_d vfat iocharset=iso8859-1,umask=0,codepage=850 0 0
none /proc proc defaults 0 0

So I added 'alias scsi_hostadapter /dev/scd0' to my modules.conf
Then I appended "scd0=scsi" to my lilo.conf[

I rebooted and ran 'cdrecord -reset' and 'cdrecord -scanbus'

'cdrecord -scanbus' showed my CDRW in the results, but my burning software still won't recognize.

Help is much appreciated.. thanks

The latest versions of cdrecord and cdrdao support burning to ATAPI disks. This means you don't need SCSI emulation. Since K3b (my favourite burning GUI) uses cdrdao and cdrecord to perform the actual burning, it also supports ATAPI burning.
