What are the free 64-bit linux distros out there? I know Mandrake has one, but I think it must be bought. I've also heard Fedora Core 2 (?) possibly has a 64-bit version.
some big names in 64 are Fedora Core, SuSE, Gentoo, and Debian (sort of). try them all out yourself.
it also sort of depends if its amd64 or ia64. there's a lot of info on this on LQ if you do a search. going on the distro website and going to an ftp mirror will show you all the possible cpu types that are available.
