any free 64 bit Distros?


I used Mandrake 9.1 in the past, any free 64 bit distros?

Yeah, Debian. Runs on just about anything. NetBSD sets the record, though.

Debian has a IA64 port but I suspect you are after a distro for an AMD processor.You might want to check with gentoo.They got a port for it but things are a little bit on the shaky side right now it seems.Just head over to the gentoo forums and check out their new 64 bit forum for more info.

Here are some good notes as to where Gentoo stands exactly with the Amd64 platform.

Mandrake has a 64bit version as well, but I have to go with the others and recommend Gentoo. They had an AMD64 at the Gentoo booth running UT2003 at the Linux World conf and it was very impressive
