Flash BIOS with custom Splash Image...

Ok - so I'm surfing the net and I come across this page explaining how this guy flashed his BIOS with a custom BIOS that he injected his own image into... Sounds very interesting.

I searched around google for a bit but a lot of things are unclear.. Two things in particular that bug me.

1) Does each mobo brand need a different tool/program to make this custom bios flash thing?

2) What happens if the custom bios flash is messed up? Does it brick the mobo? (I've bricked wifi routers before - not fun)

Thanks in advance for any help!

Oh! And in case you're wondering - I plan on doing this on a XFX nForce 630i/GF7150 MG-630i-7159 mobo.

1) yes and some have little dox altho intel's is nice as is my gigabyte's
2) things can happen from good to bad
good ....short the bios battery area after removing the battery and ensuring you have anti-stat yourself and removed power connectors to mobo from power supply.......bios defaults and is ok

bad.....shorting does sweet FA = brick

3) I have not looked at your mobo but strongly suggest that you first do normal flashing so you know the process.....gigabyte site recommends you do not jump from version 1 to 10 but go from say 1 to 4 to 8 to 10 got it?

4) I expect you to print out the instructions on jumper reset for your bios and I can give you a link if you need gigabytes manual to cheat off but I prefer you use your mobo site
