filesystem commands

You want to create and access a filesystem with three commands. What three commands do you use?

Sounds eerily like a school assignment (which is against the rules of engagement of LQ) to me, but I'll bite: mk*fs (mkreiserfs, mke2fs, and so on), mount and finally ls or whatever to access the mounted fs.

Remember though, you have to create the empty directory first on where you want to mount the new drive/partition/filesystem as well.. and then cd into it before the ls..

I would think its not 3 commands but more like 5..
