DVD's are EXTREMELY choppy! Help!

I'm desperate.

After looking all across the internet and finding nothing, this was the only place I could think of.

Now, it's technically not a linux question, although it will surely be soon since it's hardware. So here goes:

Bought an LG DVD player. Installed everything fine. Computer is 2.4 GHZ, compatible sound and video. Both of good quality.

I pop in fight club and it's so unbearably choppy..like it goes really fast, then slows down a little and so on. You can't even hear the words. I have no clue what the problem is, and less of a clue on how to fix it.

So although it is a current windows problem, I'm hoping that somebody might know what to do.

Please Help!
