I'm afraid I never managed to solve my problem. I tried a few distros but none of them worked.

Sorry mate.

Great News!
I got it working. I spent 8hours straight and tasted the vicotry.
I had to go throught my log file to erase any substantial errors.
First, I got the latest driver from ATI. I'm not the export on modules but th following work for me:
- In the module section, this is what I have:
Section "Module"
Load "dbe" # Double-Buffering Extension
Load "v4l" # Video for Linux
Load "extmod"
Load "type1"
Load "freetype"

# Load "glx"
Load "dri" # direct rendering
Load "/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/extensions/libglx.a"
EndSection
-> I had to comment out ' Load "glx" ' to take out the famous error on fglrx_drv.o
-> Try to replace it with the file libglx.a

N.B. I try this when I was thinking about my motherboard A7N8X-X (nvidia) and my videos card is an ATI RADEON 9250....(stupid me bying a NVIDIA chip and mixt it with an ATI driver :-( )

- The thing that made all this must be certainly my DEVICE section. Here is what is the important part like:

Section "Device"
Identifier "device1"
VendorName "ATI"
BoardName "ATI Radeon (fglrx)"
Driver "fglrx"
BusID "PCI:2:0:0"

# (...)

# === FireGL DDX driver module specific settings ===
# === Screen Management ===
Option "DesktopSetup" "0x00000201" # Big - Horizontal, connector1 on right
# Option "DesktopSetup" "0x00000200" # Big - Horizontal

# (...)

EndSection

Section "Device"
Identifier "device2"
VendorName "ATI"
BoardName "ATI Radeon (fglrx)"
Driver "fglrx"

# Option "AGPMode" "4"
BusID "PCI:2:0:1"
# Screen 1
EndSection

-> Because my ATI video card is somehow different, I had to put a similare BusID. Here again, I saw an error fon my Xorg log file to make the changes .. and some googling too ;-)
-> If your ATI dvriver is not like mine, fglrx_4_3_0-8.19.10-1, maybe the screen management options do not accept the hexadecimal format.

- Finaly, my ServerLayout secSection "ServerLayout"
Identifier "layout1"
InputDevice "Keyboard1" "CoreKeyboard"
InputDevice "Mouse1" "CorePointer"
Screen "screen1"
Screen "screen2" RightOf "screen1"

Option "Xinerama" "true"
EndSectiontion:

-> like any other ServerLayout section.

I don't any thing about your ATI card but should be something that resemble mine. My best advice would be to clean any suspicous error on your X log file.

Don't hesitate to ask me any question that I might be helpful.
