Detecting internal wireless card?

I recently got Backtrack and decided to make it the primary OS for my new laptop, but I can't get my OS to detect my internal wireless card... Is there a command I have to type in order for it to detect it?

i'm assumin here that backtrack is a *nix, not a BSD (my bsd info is nonexistent)

could you post the output of "lspci -v" ?
also, what utilities are you using to try to detect it?

Hmm, I haven't heard about these programs that detect the hardware... Where can I get them?

Did you run the "lspci" command as suggested above? That command should tell you amongst other things, the type of wireless card you have and its chipset.
