Can I Get A Refund For A Note7?

I just so happened to get my hands on a Samsung Galaxy Note 7 (the one that catches on fire). The screen is kinda cracked, but nothing too serious. They released a OTA update that rendered the phone unusable (e.g. it cant keep a charge). Anyways I think they costed like 1400$, so I was wondering if can I return it without a receipt to a carrier store and get 1400$? Samsung apparently really wanted these phones since those pose a fire hazard, but i'm not sure if their policy has changed.. Thanks in advance.

Probably not and in most cases it does not work like that. I doubt any store will give you money for the phone just because it is being recalled.

Some might consider this fraud which is against the forum's rules.

There's no way returning a potentially dangerous product that has been recalled, for a refund can be considered fraud unless it has been explicitly specified by the retailer store that the said phone must have been purchased from one of their stores, in which it was purchased. For all I know these retailors may have a business contract with Samsung which will reimburse them for any recalled phone.. But I don't know which is why I asked the question, so unless anyone here has facts (which is what I was looking for) I'm just a simple guy asking a simple question. BTW thanks Hydurga the Samsung route will work for sure, it's just I didn't want to wait for shipping and all that.
