If i remember correctly you hold down 'C' or 'Apple + C' as the computer is booting.
It might even be Apple + option + backspace + plus the number key relating to the scsi id of the cdrom drive but i think thats for very old macs.
There is another issue as well depending on what version of the motherboard system rom the computer has ( new world / old world ) to boot linux you have to have a working mac partition, boot into that then you have a control panel which then boots into yellow dog.
