CDROM Booting

Hello all.

I have a question about booting from cdrom.

I was wanting to make my normal boot device the cdrom and not the hard drive o boot floppy. Using the RH 7.1 install cdrom, can I boot my hard disk. My disk is configured as hda1 (/boot) and hda5 (/)?

The floppy takes too long, and the hard disk booting does not work well. So, if I can use the installation cdrom to boot to the regular system, it would be great.

Thanks,

You can't use the installation cd to boot to a normal system. That's not what it's for. Just like you can't use a windows cdrom to boot to windows.

i guess you could make your own setup and burn it to a cdr, but i wouldn't know what to do abuot that really.
