(ASUS Xonar DX sound card) Only its Side output has sound.
Xonar DX is a 7.1-channels sound card of ASUS. Its panel has a input jack and four output jacks: Front, Side, Center-Subwoofer, Back.
According to its manual, a pair of 2.0-channels speakers or a headphone should be connected with the Front output jack in its panel. But actually only the Side output in the panel has sound. (I use Mageia, a new Linux distro) I used "speaker-test -c 8" to test channels, and found that the Side output is recognized as the Front output, because from this output the sound of Front Left and Front Right are loudest.
Why doesn't the Front output work but the Side out is recognized as main output? How to solve the problem?
Thank you for your help!
