Asus DRW-1604P
Hello folks,
Anybody has tried to make an ASUS DRW-1604 work on Linux?
(FC2 2.6.6-1.435 and/or 2.6.10-1.771_FC2)
We just bought an external drive connected via USB to the computer.
As soon as I plug the drive the systems seems to identify it from time
to time...not as a DVD writer but as a CDRom drive.
This is what you get on the /var/log/messages file as soon as you try
to connect the drive:
kernel: usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 21
kernel: usb 1-1: khubd timed out on ep0in
kernel: scsi2 : SCSI emulation for USB Mass Storage devices
kernel: Vendor: ASUS Model: DRW-1604P Rev: 1.18
kernel: Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 00
kernel: sr0: scsi3-mmc drive: 40x/40x writer cd/rw xa/form2 cdda tray
kernel: Attached scsi generic sg0 at scsi2, channel 0, id 0, lun 0, type 5
scsi.agent[9779]: cdrom at
/devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:04.2/usb1/1-1/1-1:1.0/host2/target2:0:0/2:0:0:0
udev[9810]: creating device node '/udev/sr0'
udev[9812]: creating device node '/udev/sg0'
I have the latest versions of cdrecord cdrtools k3b and dvd+rw-tools available for
FC2.
thx in adavance!
