Unhappy No GUI in ASUS MB

Hai Everybody,
I am a newly converted fan of Linux and I have recently installed Re Hat Linux 8.0 in my PC. However, I recently upgraded my sustem from a P2-550 to an Athlon 1700 XP+ processor, and bought the ASUS A7N266-VM motherboard, with integrated Ge-Force AGP card and an integrated didgital souncard. However, I could not bring out the GUI in Linux, and if I try to go into the GUI mode, the system just freezes.

I should note that anaconda itself freezed during installation when it tried to enter into the GUI mode, and I had to do the text-based install. I need to work in the GUI and any help from you folks is mostly welcome, as I hace installed win2k to just work in office documents, and a GUI in linux means I can finally dump the WinOS.

My hardware config is

Processor - Athlon 1700 XP+
RAM - 128 MB DDR RAM
Motherboard - ASUS A7N266-VM
AGP - Integrated Ge-Force AGP with 32MB
Sound Card - Integrated Sound Card

Thanks for your help!

Hi sathya,
I'd the same problem as you had. You have to goto nVidia's website and download their drivers. http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=linux_nforce_1.0-0248
You can choose the RH8 rpm. DOnt worry. It'll work fine. (It did with mine though I'd chosen the RH7.2 driver.
Get back if it doesnt
