Any success hooking up Energizer HM450 UPS?

I just got this thing at Staples for $10 after rebate. OK, it's not APC, but 10 bucks. Now, if I could only figure out how to get it to work with my MDK 9.1.

Anybody figure this out?

I googled this link, but it's for a different model:

its just a usb <-> serial convertor. kinda unsuprised by that. the usb file system (usbfs) has tty's, i believe, explicityly for stuff like this.

it even detects the baud rate of the convertor under usbview, so i believe its got semi working usb drivers for it.

havent really had any time to play around with it, but it shouldnt be hard to get working.
